Our New Improved Workshop Space Is Now Bigger and Better!

Here at ShabbyAnd…  we have recently invested in our business to improve our workshop facilities for lovers of shabby chic and Autentico chalk paints.

The area where we hold our workshops to show people how to lovingly transform their furniture to create stunning vintage and retro look has been expanded at 35A – 35B Barfield Road, West Mersea, Essex, CO5 8QX.

This good news means that we can now increase our services for group bookings for people who may be looking to entertain their family and friends, teams or groups with something a little bit different.

All of our workshops are fun and last three to four hours. If you are looking for a novel Hen or Stag party pre-drinks get-together, or run a WI group or sports team, Scout or Guide troop, for example, this could be the ideal activity. It would certainly be something to tell your friends about and you could have some new skills to photograph and post on your social media.

Our very own Shabby Chic Queen, Ann Beament, who was shortlisted in the Essex Business Awards in 2014, will be conducting the workshops. She will be sharing her expertise and knowledge with all attendees.

It was her love of transforming furniture with these techniques that led Ann to turn a much-loved hobby into a successful business and shop which sells Autentico Chalk Paints, carefully restored pre-owned furniture, creatively designed and ethically sourced goods that will be cherished by you or as gifts by your loved ones.

We run our workshops throughout the year for beginners, who are picking up new skills so that they can achieve that distressed or vintage look, and also for advanced practitioners of all things shabby chic, who feel the need to increase their learning.

There is good news for all shabby chic fans and lovers of Autentico Vintage Chalk Paints.

Our very own expert, ShabbyAnd…’s owner, Ann Beament is in the process of writing a booklet on top tips for using Autentico Vintage Chalk Paints and you will soon be able to download it.

The booklet covers many of the recommended methods to use to lovingly transform your favourite piece of furniture or to give an heirloom or hand-me-down a stunning distressed or vintage look.

You will be able to learn how to prepare, paint and decorate your treasured dressing table, drawers, table, dresser or bedside cabinet, to name but a few pieces of furniture that these techniques can be used on.

They usually cost £65 but you can book a place for a limited time at the special offer price of £50. This offer expires on 28^th February 2015

 

Our very own Shabby Chic expert, ShabbyAnd…’s owner, Ann Beament, who developed a business from a hobby, runs the workshops to show people how to reinvigorate their furniture and achieve that fashionable, distressed look for themselves using Autentico Chalk Paints.

We have workshops running throughout the year for beginners and advanced workshops for those who already know the basics, but are keen to learn more. It’s a great way to develop a new interest or you may want to buy an Autentico Starter Kit and a gift voucher to book a workshop place as a present for a family member or Valentine’s Day gift for that special friend.

At the beginners’ basic workshop, you will learn how:

·      How to prepare your piece of furniture

·      What equipment you will need

·      Techniques for applying the paint

·      How to use layering techniques to create various colour patterns

·      How to create special effects using Distressing and Autentico waxes

·      And much more.

At the advanced workshop, you will learn how to:

·      Cover Crackle Glaze effects

·      Use the Craquelure system

·      Create 3D effect using stencils and Terrapieno embossing paste

·      Apply Art Medium. 

Spaces are limited to four people at the Basic Workshop and six at the Advanced Workshop (greater numbers for parties can be accommodated by special request on booking).

Our popular workshops offer a hands-on experience. Simply bring along your piece of well-loved furniture to learn how to upcycle it using Autentico Chalk Paints and waxes. We would recommend that you bring a small item such as a stool small table, cabinet, shelf or mirror. If you do not have a piece yourself to bring along, then we can assist with this as we have pieces you can purchase to paint or just paint and leave with us.

Our workshops do not end when you leave, members from our team of experts will be available by telephone to give you help and advice.

We have also set up a special forum to create an on-going active community for our workshop participants, where you can ask questions, share ideas and show off your handiwork by uploading pictures. Ann will also use the forum to answer your messages and share tips. You will be invited to join the forum via email after the workshop.

All materials, lunch and refreshments are included and you will also receive a 10% discount on all Autentico products purchased on the day.
